Russian GRU spy Sergei Vladimirovich Cherkasov tried to infiltrate the International Criminal Court Российский ГРУ шпион Сергей Владимирович Черкасов пытался внедриться в Международный уголовный суд ____________________________ Foreigner arrested after assuming Brazilian identity A Russian national, who, since 2010, has been posing as a Brazilian citizen, is under custody in Brazil and responding to criminal proceedings for crimes of forgery. The Federal Police's investigation began in April 2022, when the man was refused admission by the Netherlands and had to return to Brazil. At the time, the Dutch authorities made the communication that the inadmission was due to evidence of false identity presented in the attempt to enter the European country. Police investigations concluded that the Russian entered Rio de Janeiro in 2010. Using a sophisticated forgery scheme, he assumed the forged identity of a Brazilian whose country has already died. Posing as a Brazilian, the man came to live for a few years in Ireland and the United States of America. He had recently returned to Brazil, where he was preparing to move to Holland. There, he had been admitted to a six-month trial period at the International Criminal Court as a junior analyst in the Preliminary Examinations Section. The police have already identified possible crimes of false identity, misrepresentation, document forgery and use of false documents. In Brazil, he responds to criminal proceedings for fifteen uses of false documents and remains in custody awaiting the judgment of the first degree. The man was denied entrance to the Netherlands and was sent back to Brazil.This press release provided a wide array of information about this individual, including his real identity and his “legend” identity – a fake persona created by the GRU.The real name of the GRU asset, according to AIVD, is Sergey Vladimirovich Cherkasov (born 11 September 1985). His false persona is Victor Muller Ferreira (born 4 April 1989).
